 Act 1 Merc Setup for Damage?

I am going to be using ininity in my hands so I was wondering what setup for act 1 merc would do the best damage to the big light immunes?

The ones Hdins use:

Ice Hydra Bow, Dream Helm, Fort Armor

alternativley u can try this:

Botd Hydra Bow, Dream Helm, Fort Armor

My Hdin uses an Ice Crusader and combined with conc she does a nice 5k damage, but I do think Botd Hyrda Will do a bit more damage but minus the Holy Freeze aura which helps alot at slowing monsters down.

I had an A1 with botd on my hdin it was just missing the Dream but she was pretty helpful.. switched to A3 for the med from Insight though.

Apparently Ice bows are the shit right now so go with sham's setup. Razz

I you read what I said "I am going to be using ininity" meaning I'm going to be sorc. I don't think anyone will be able to give input on this. Probably will have to mess with it myself.

I currently have:
Um'd Gaze
Fort
Faith Diamond Bow

It kills in solo fine but when I get in full games it sucks. I might try and put a windforce on it.

Oh I just meant I switched my merc on my pally to A2, not A3 like it says above (damn typos >.<) but yea that sounds like a good merc setup for your sorc.

k....it depends...do you want slow but slightly heavy dmg or do you want fast possibly dead merc dmg?

[slow]
ice crusader
fort
gaze/andys

[fast]
ice great/blade bow
eth glitched TREACHERY armor
egaze/edream

the confusion proc on dream is what you really need...and it works IF the merc gets hit....you wouldnt have a dmg booster with the sorc but if you get a fire dmg with ice and dream you have all 3 elementals covered (and if Im not mistaken ice has psn dmg on it as well to prevent regeneration) and you can kill most anythin with her....my merc (granted she does have conc) can kill almost any monster in 3-4 arrows no problem (ghosts are 1-2 arrows) and she shoots HELLA fast. The biggest problem you will have with that merc is res....the higher res on dream the better but you wont get perf res on her unless she fades.

If I HAD to have a non-a2/a5 merc with a sorc I wouldnt use a bow...Id use an a3 cold merc...yeah you lose the holy freeze aura but if you give him an eth cs sanctuary you dont have to worry about that....just have to worry about the kb against ghosts and oblivions. With the a3 (this is just me) Id have him have a lidless, vmagi, and delirium with that sanctuary (fcr on that merc is a good thing and the +skills really help too) but you may find that the res/defense arent so good with that setup. That, coupled with the fact that the oblivions hit HARD (and fast with desis only) might kill that merc pretty quick and it doesnt have any kind of ll possible.

Ive tried wf knock back hurts... Ice, Egaze(40/15), 3552 def bugged efort ap is my set-up

I still think an ice merc is ur best option, remember the purpose of a merc is not to kill for u (unless ur a gf barb :p) but rather slow enemies down for you or just as a distraction to keep monsters of you. With your ice merc you should be able to clean CS quite fast with the exception of that odd lite immune which then u need ur merc to kill (thats why I like Treachery, there is no Poison immune in CS so the lvl 15 Venom will help kill alot faster + the 45ias really helps to trigger venom more often), ive never tried an act 3 merc before but if u give him Sanctuary im pretty sure he can KB enough monsters to keep them off you but keep in mind he probably wont kill much, his casting spells arent that great.

PS: Ive seen Keegan use an Ice Merc with the same build and he can clear CS pretty fast. And im getting annoyed of my own merc dieing lol, im considering going for this build too.
