I'm not sure between demon hunter and barbarian. I played both thoroughly in the beta and I just can't make my mind up. I'm leaning towards demon hunter, but it's been changing frequently.

Lol that's too bad for you then Smile

My friend hooked me up with a friend's account, i played on it for awhile but it's kinda boring playing alone so I only got to like lvl 5

Demon hunter is pretty fun to play

I have decided I am going Wizard at first. This is probably what my setup is going to look like.

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/wizard#UilSjm!ZXg!aaYbYc

Before I played the Beta I wanted to go Witch Doctor at the beginning for a support character but once I play him in the beta I didn't like him. I like running around with the Demon Hunter but they really changed a lot of the fun/useful skills until later levels. I have decided Wizard because she seems to be one of the strongest characters and she can use just about all the weapons.

If I end up getting it I'll probably do monk.

Matt, could you teach me how builds work in this game with a link or an explanation?

All I see are 6 skills that don't level up etc. Hows it different from D2's?

I tried to look it up on the D3 website but theres no clear explanations that I can find.

I will try my best to explain it,

Skills are now based off of weapon damage. Skills are unlocked by level and there are no more skill points like in D2. But you can only have 6 active and 3 passive skills at one time, these slots are also unlocked by level. You can change around your build has many times as you want but they have a 15 second cool down once you change. Runes are no longer physical items, they are attached to skills and unlocked by level.

D3 is basically like a whole new game, not a Diablo game.

Oh, I understand now.

But D3 I still consider Diablo, just improvised from D2's system. I do hope they did something about viability of builds though, or everybody will just reset their build and do the same exact thing as everyone else.

I also hope there are different gear combos for these different builds.

I think there will be a lot of different builds in D3 because of runes. Of course there will be some overpowered skills but the are runes bonuses that make the other skills nice. Atleast it won't be as bad as D2 with synergies.

There is also a buff the kicks in when you are level 60 that gives you a MF and GF bonus for killing elites. It will reset if you change your skills or leave the game.

I think a solution to the problem of changing builds for every situation isn't so much a MF/GF bonus (helps, but doesn't totally work) would be to also only allow a re-spec once every instance.

I hope they have more skills that revolve around helping your party out too, make it feel more team based instead of everybody trying to do as much damage as possible. Not necessarily a tank/dps/heal system that WoW has, but something along the lines of slowing mobs, putting up forcefields etc.
